COMPLETE ALBUM BY P.F. DANA. Album containing 102 silver print photographs, generally 6¼ x 8 inches, by P.F. Dana, [1906], labeled in negative, each tipped at corners, period full black cloth, some slight silvering, a few abrasions, but generally excellent, album with some light general wear. This album, full of well-composed images, includes the usual assortment of ruins, buildings in flame, and general devastation, but also some more unusual images that put a human face on the disaster like a police officer amongst stacks of bricks, all that remain of the Southern Police Station, the refugee camps in Golden Gate Park with a well-dressed group strolling down the promenade between two tent rows, an open air mass at the St. Dominic's church site, banks open the day after the fire, and even an impromptu restaurant set up in a tent, surrounded by skeletal ruins. Photographically speaking, the best album of the San Francisco earthquake and fire we've seen. See illustration.
