Salt processing - Lymington. A manuscript entitled 'A short tretis of salt mad[e] from brine raised by the sun pan and embodyed by fire', setting out in detail how to place, set out and make the pan work, together with economic advice on how to make it work, c.1725, 7pp. manuscript written in a neat hand regarding the processing of sea salt harvested at 'Lemmington' (i.e. Lymington in the New Forest) and near Portsmouth at Portsea Island, close-trimmed to edges, stab holes to spine edge where previously sewn, small 4to, together with: Fen Drainage, A collection of five 18th century documents concerning the drainage of the Sutton and Mepal Levels, Cambridgeshire, enabled by Act of Parliament of 1749, plus a varied assortment of other miscellaneous 17th-19th century manuscript documents etc., including one relating to the Spanish Philippines Company, 1809; and a Navy Office document comparing the 'Ordinary Estimates of this and the ensuing year', 29th November 1751; and a two-page manuscript list of the Fisheries in the River Tyne listing names of proprietors, 14th September 1803, etc.
