[Epistolae], substantial fragment only, 50 ff., of 192, 40 lines, roman type, large initial 'I' on first page in green red and blue on a gold background, with marginal decoration including coloured flowers and foliage and gilt bezants, 4 other initials supplied in red or blue, last f. soiled, lower corner torn, some worming, little marking or spotting, disbound, in modern cloth case, with 1937 report from Birmingham Public Library, [BMC VI 722; Goff A553], folio, Milan, Antonius Zarotus, 1491. *** The last part only of a handsome edition of Ambrose, containing his De vocatione omnium gentium, De Isaach & anima, some shorter works, the colophon and a Register on the verso of the last f. The fine illuminated initial has been identified as work from the circle of Attavante degli Attavani (1452-c. 1525), cf. our sale of Western Manuscripts and Miniatures, 6th July 2016, lot 84.
