Mounted on guards throughout, letterpress half-title (somewhat soiled and creased), 67 engraved plates, 17 double-page, 3 folding (eight plates shaved, with loss to the image in six cases, one folding plate with outer margin creased and with small tears, two plates with rustholes). Near-contemporary English mottled calf, covers tooled in blind, spine gilt in compartments, red morocco lettering piece in one (extremities rubbed, joints split). The complete work consisted of a title to the first vol., a 2pp. letterpress dedication and 139 plates. The 67 plates in the second vol. include plans and views of various aspects of 23 buildings in Genoa, each plate is titled with the name of the building and its owner. cf.Berlin Kat. 2657.
