The attentive observer will notice the small silvered line underneath the designation Oyster Perpetual. It is thought that Rolex produced such underline dials to indicate to use of tritium only around 1963-1964, presumably on watches bearing serial numbers ranging from 950000 to 1100000 These dials were characterized by a small silvered line underneath the designation Submariner or the word Oyster Perpetual.
