Beschreibung:

Rolex, Oyster Perpetual Military Submariner, ref. 5513, a rare stainless steel wristwatch, no. 3926751, circa 1975, automatic movement, 26 jewels, cal. 1520, black dial, dot and baton markers, baton minute and sword hour hands, centre seconds hand, rotating black bezel, fixed bars, screw down back with military marks, case, dial and movement signed, on a green NATO strap, accompanied by a receipt from the Ministry of Defence (Naval) for the loss of two divers watches, dated 13th April 1982, diameter 39mm The 'Milsub' is an enhanced version of the civilian Submariner. These were ordered by the Ministry of Defence in the early 1970s with specific requirements. These included: fixed bars, so that the straps could not be pulled off, sword hands for increased legibility and the T in a circle on the dial to mark the use of Tritium. The vendor of this example was a scientific officer for a trials team at the Admiralty Underwater Weapons Establishment on Portland Dorset. He was issued with two Rolex Submariners for the use of himself and his team. This was to save them from damaging their own personal watches. After several trials the watches were locked away in a drawer in the laboratory for safe keeping. Months later the watches had vanished and as the vendor was responsible for them, had to pay for their loss. The receipt for this is included with the watch. When moving laboratories one of these watches was found in another locked drawer. The case back is engraved with the numbers 0552/923-7697 above the Military Broad Arrow mark above 707/77 Please note: This watch is also stamped 5517 under one of the lugs, making it a double reference 5513/5517 Condition report disclaimer
