Lengthy Halachic response letter on the topic of Takanat Agunot, by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Klein, sent to Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Glasner, Av Beit Din of Klozenburg. Szilֳ¡gy-Cseh. [1893?]. The name of Rabbi Shmaya Loewe [Av Beit Din of Sekeli-Crestor, author of"Bnei Shmaya", killed during the Holocaust, 1944] is mentioned in the present letter. Rabbi Shlomo Zalman son of Rabbi Moshe Klein was born in 1862, in the town of Selish where he filled the rabbinical office of his grandfather Rabbi Shmelke author of the"Tzror Ha-Haim". Learned at the Yeshiva of Rabbi Pinchas Chaim Klein - his uncle - in Selish. In 1880, when his father - Rabbi of Szilֳ¡gy-Cseh - passed away, the community decided that his place should be filled by his 18 year old son after he'd get married. Rabbi Shlomo Zalman was a Moreh Hora'ah for over 60 years until he passed away during fall 1941. After WWI, he often dealt with Takanat Agunot and his son printed a booklet on the matter called"Ateret Shlomo-Takanat Agunot" in Budapest after WWII. (See more about him in enclosed material). The letter's recipient: Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Glasner (1856-1925, Otzar Ha-Rabbanim 15664) son of Rabbi Avraham Glasner , Av Beit Din of Klozenburg, (son in law of Rabbi David Zvi Ehrenfeld of Pressburg son in law of the"Chatam Sofer"- the reason he called his book"Dor Revi'i" [Fourth Generation]). Filled the rabbinical office of Klozenburg for 45 years. [Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Klein became his relative by marriage, when in 1904 his son - Rabbi Shmuel Menachem Klein - married the daughter of Rabbi Glasner]. 9 pp. 34 cm. Good-fair condition, wear and tears not affecting the text.
