Rare and early report on the San Francisco underground water supply with interesting color maps. Prepared by noted San Francisco City Engineer Michael O'Shaughnessy (1864-1934). He was the builder of the Hetch-Hetchy Water and Power Supply for San Francisco and a number of dams, aqueducts, tunnels, etc. The O'Shaughnessy Dam in California was named in his honour as was a boulevard and sea-wall in San Francisco. Printed by Phillips & Van Orden Company. Lot Amendments Condition: Spine faded and clear tape repaired, short tears and chips with creases to edges, small scuffs, previous owner’s signature crossed off on front cover; hinges loose, each map with a small diagonal fold to the upper portions; internally clean and very good; exterior still good.
