Many of the photographs captioned in the negatives, some with captions on the mounts. Among those pictured is the State Savings Bank building, "Value 1904 $300 per foot - Value 1925 $5,000 per foot. Present lease to run 6 years then pays 6% on $10,000.00 per foot." A large unidentified building had an "Original purchase price less than $20,000.00 - Present value $2,000,000.00." A West Coast Theatres building "Sold in 1917 at $30.00 per ft. - Value 1927 at $1,500 per ft." Other buildings include the Oakland City Hall; an undeveloped Grand Avenue ("don't delay"); Lake Merrit and the "Oakland Skyline 1927"; Broadway in 1878 and 1926; the Montgomery Ward building; the rather modest "M.F.
