Superior grade Queen Victoria Wooton desk. Renaissance revival style of elaborately carved walnut and inlaid wtih satinwood and ebony. The gallery is mounted with the Trafalgar lion and flanked on either end by crowns of royalty. It is noted that William S. Wooton felt this was the crowning achievement of his career. Believed to have been commissioned by Queen Victoria I of England for her personal use. Provenance: exhibited at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York, The Smithsonian, The Oakland City Museum, and the Minnesota Historical Society. 73 inch tall, by 42 inch wide, by 30 inch deep.
