The work of Schondia comprises not only the special regions concerned (as Welt as Ireland, Scotland and Germany) but also Islandia, Gronlandia, Ulteriora incognita, ad Terra Baccalla. In the text there is a notice refering to the discovery of America (l. 92 vo.), and there is a mention of Antonius Cabot's voyage, and of Spanish expeditions to the North-East of the New Continent. Ziegler's map of Schondia is particularly remarkable for showing for the first time a contintental conjunction between Europe and America.
