Shell of 7.5" circumference with four-piece padded interior lining. Hemet has been fitted with mail aventail consisting of butted rings in 4-in-1 pattern. Sliding nose guard with plume holders and cruciform spike. Decorated throughout with floral arabesque with animals along with Arabic script. Provenance:Property from the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields, Sold to Benefit the Art Acquisitions Fund Condition: Some staining and darkening from age. Mail in in good condition with only minor loss of rings. Interior padding in good condition, appears to be original.
