(9 7/8 x 6 7/8 x 1 1/8in.), black calf inlaid to a cubist design in maroon and dark turquoise morocco and fawn calf, gilt-tooled with rules, dots, lozenges, clusters of semi-circles, triangles and a squared C-shape set both vertically and horizontally, spines in six compartments, gilt-lettered in the top compartment, gilt-tooled in the rest, board edges with double gilt rule, turn-ins gilt, stamp-signed and dated on turn-ins: "MCM SP XXXII", upper joint of second volume slightly cracked at foot, hinges and corners of both volumes rubbed, spines faded. PROOF OF EACH BOOK WITH MANUSCRIPT CORRECTIONS, with ink stamps of University Press, Cambridge dated 14 Nov. 1930 (1st volume) and 24 and 31 Mar. 1932 (2nd volume); each volume bearing extensive authorial corrections on almost every page, in blue, with less extensive editorial correction, in red (1st volume only) and pencil.
