PROPERTY OF A CONTINENTAL LADY AN IMPORTANT MATCHED SUITE OF LAPIS LAZULI, BLUE AGATE AND TURQUOISE JEWELLERY, 'LA BOUGAINVILLIER BLEUE' COMMISSIONED FROM REPOSSI, 1992 Comprising three graduated brooches, each modelled as a bougainvillier flower, the bombé petals set with fancy-cut turquoises, blue agates and lapis lazuli within collet and claw settings, mounted in 18K gold, each signed Repossi, French assay marks, copyrighted 'Création Privée 626', accompanied with Repossi study notes and drawings, largest brooch length: 15.5cm Repossi. Now a fourth generation family-run business with rich heritage and craftsmanship, the House of Repossi has become synonymous with elegance and style. The House of Repossi was founded in 1920 in Turin, Italy. Repossi is renowned for its exquisite jewellery incorporating exceptional stones into pieces that seamlessly blend contemporary designs with classical elements, famed for its ornate, diamond-studded creations. The brand was established by Constantino Repossi. Upon completing his studies in industrial design, Constantino took over his fathers jewellery business and atelier in post-war Italy. The first Repossi store was opened in 1949 in Turin during Italys modernist era. Art Deco and Avant-Garde styles prevailed in the first Repossi collections, which demonstrated Costantinos ability to combine both his technical and artist background. Subsequently, Constantinos son, Alberto, began designing pieces at the age of seventeen after learning the craftsmanship of the familys atelier. In 1974, Alberto took charge of the house founded by his grandfather, bringing the brand to International recognition. Under Alberto, the Repossi House saw the opening a flagship store in Monte Carlo in 1977, followed by the Paris store in the Place Vendôme in 1986. Repossi designs were famed for their elegance were celebrated by many influential people. Repossi became the official purveyor to HRH The Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1994 which gave the house worldwide recognition. Repossi also became the official supplier to the Saudi Royal family, followed by Qatar and Dubai. Repossi continues to work with royalty in many countries, and its designs are enjoyed by socialites, jewellery connoisseurs and celebrities worldwide. Today, much of the work is still done in the same workshops that were used in the 1920s.
