Property from the Masterworks of Time CollectionBlondeau à ParisA GOLD JUMP HOUR CALENDAR WATCHCIRCA 1820, NO. 1098 • Movement: gilded, cylinder escapement, plain gold three-arm balance, standing barrel• Dial: silver guilloché with contrasting engine-turned finishes, aperture for jump hours, eccentric silvered minute ring, three subsidiary dials for seconds, day and date, blued steel hands• Case: gold, engine-turned back and band, gold pendant and bow, polished gold cuvette signed and numbered Blondeau, Hger Bté du Roi, Rue de la Paix no. 19, à Paris, No. 1098, inside case back and cuvette further numbered 16346, indistinct maker's markdiameter 52mmCondition reportMovement: not running, balance seems sticky probably indicating that it has seized up due to old oil. The watch is winding smoothly, minute hand adjusting well and hours jumping fine, the day changing around midnight and the day at around 12.30am. Some scratching to the plates and small area of slight rippling around a slot to the barrel cover at its edge. Dial: has been refreshed in the past, some patchy scuffing but engine turned decorative scheme in good overall condition. Case: engine turning in good condition, case maker's mark to inside back is difficult to read as slightly rubbed. No French control marks to inside of case or cuvette.
