A fine 22 carat gold, enamel and diamond set quarter repeating triple cased verge pocketwatch for the Turkish Market Signed on the movement Edward Prior, London, no. 43802 and signed on the dial George Prior, London, 1810s The frosted gilt chain fusee movement with engraved cock and foot, three armed steel balance, diamond endstone and verge escapement, striking hours and quarters on a bell by depressing the pendant, the pierced inner case with painted enamel floral scene on translucent red enamel background with further polychrome enamel decoration and diamond set pendant, the intermediary case with polychrome enamel decoration and serpentine bezel, a painted maritime scene on translucent pink enamel on guilloche background, the outer case with polychrome enamel decoration and serpentine bezel, glazed to one cover, casemaker's mark AN possibly for Augustus Newman , dial and movement signed 51 mm. diam. outer case London 1818
