"Friday Evening," 1 page, 4to, integral blank , introducing a friend "I would have you particularly kind to the bearer of this -- He is one who is every way trust worthy and will never betrray confidence..." -- VAN BUREN, MARTIN. Autograph letter signed to Major A. D'Avezac?, Lindenwald, New York, 20 November 1844, 3 3/4 pages, 4to , endorsing the recipient for a government appointment "...All that I can do to promote [you]...is an unfeigned expression of my best wishes..." -- FILLMORE, MILLARD. Autograph letter signed to J.T. Lloyd, Buffalo, 20 February 1863, 1 3/4 pages, 8vo, small tear to lower left margin (not affecting text), some spotting, verso soiled , complaining that "...I have not received the map of the Lower Mississippi, nor the new R[ail] R[oad] map for which I wrote; and I am sadly disappointed at the bungling manner, (if you will pardon the expression) in which the U.
