Various sizes, all ink on vellum or paper; mostly tipped-into (tape-mounted along single margin verso) into folio morocco volume gilt, with engraved portaits bound opposite. Includes: WASHINGTON, GEORGE. Printed document signed ("G:Washington"), as General and Commander in Chief of the Forces of the United States. 9 June 1783. One page, 4to, accomplished in manuscript, separated along vertical folds (repaired with archival tape on verso) crossing "h" of signature. Military discharge of John Brion-Matrafs(?) -- ADAMS, JOHN. Printed document signed ("John Adams"), as President. 6 june 1799. Folio, on parchment, papered seal, accomplished in manuscript, creased along folds, several holes along horizontal fold (with some loss to 3 printed words), some spotting and browning. Land grant to Alexander Balmain for 1200 acres in Ohio -- JEFFERSON, THOMAS. Letter signed ("Th:Jefferson"), as Secretary of State to the Governor of Georgia.
