PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES]. A group of three ship's passports containing four Presidential signatures. JACKSON, Andrew. Engraved document signed ("Andrew Jackson") as President, COUNTERSIGNED BY SECRETARY OF STATE Martin Van Buren ("M. Van Buren"), and by the Collector of the Ports of Boston and Charleston of New York, Washington, 4 January 1831. 1 page, folio (14¾ x 10 in.) PRINTED ON FINE PARCHMENT, accomplished in manuscript, with scalloped edge at top, remnants of paper seal at lower left; folded, some wear at creases . Finely engraved with calligraphic text at top: "By the President of the United States of America," beneath two nautical vignettes: one of a 3-mast ship at sea, and the other a lighthouse and harbor scene, showing several boats making for a steepled town with a 15-gun battery. A ship's passport for the Brig Magnolia and its crew of seven men skippered by Richard Bettis. -- JACKSON.
