Condition : outer edges slightly tanned, small split to foot of fold. Catalogue of the large Soviet food manufacturer. Founded in 1922 as part of Lenin’s New Economic or NEP, Mosselprom (short for Moscow Association of Establishments for Processing Products of the Agricultural Industry) was a large state distribution agency for agricultural goods. This huge trust owned factories that manufactured such products as cigarettes, beer, chocolate and other sweets that were supplied to the firm's state-owned chain of food stores. Vladimir Mayakovsky and Aleksandr Rodchenko worked on their advertising campaign and designed much of the packaging in the 1920s. Mayakovsky said that his slogan “Nowhere but in Mosselprom” was “poetry at the highest level of skill.” The catalogue cover shows the company's headquarters that was one of the tallest buildings in Moscow. Mosselprom was closed in 1937 and the building was converted into apartments. One of 5000 copies.
