Poul Kjærholm Stool, model no. PK 33 ca. 1959 Chrome-plated steel, leather, painted laminated plywood, rubber. 13 1/4 in. (33.7 cm.) high, 21 1/8 in. (53.7 cm.) diameter Manufactured by E. Kold Christensen, Denmark. Top of frame impressed with manufacturer’s mark.

He tempered hard frames with natural materials — canvas, cane, and leather — allowing for the evidence of wear. Manufacturer E. Kold Christensen supplied Kjærholm’s PK 33 stools with vegetable-tanned leather cushions which were fitted into the shallow bowls of their plywood seats.
