Hundreds of postcards mailed from Rolph family members to young James Rolph III, the Mayor James Rolph Jr.’s son. Most mailed from his father, the mayor himself to his son at 236 San Jose Avenue in San Francisco from the period of 1904-1910. Most of the cards are American with some European mixed in. A few real photo post cards including one of Hotel LaHonda in SanMateo County, 1907, a nice mechanical multi-foldover for Pick The Pickannies Puzzle, and a signed real photo of President William Howard Taft from Washington. Some patriotics and a few holidays but mostly images around the country from the mayor on his travels. Lot Amendments Condition: The cards are all very good, but are pasted in the album, although most are adhered on the top only, so can be lifted to read the reverse.
