PLUMPJACK Plumpjack is a new winery that leases the former Villa Mt Eden facility and sources most of their grapes from an Oakville Appellation vineyard situated on the north side of the Oakville Cross Road. Winemaker Nils Venge, acknowledges that the vineyard is largely responsible for producing the dynamic Cabernets for which Plumpjack has become known. The winery achieved further notoriety by releasing half of its 1997 Reserve Cabernet (production 300 cases) with screw capsules and will do the same with the 1998 Reserve.
