Super-chancery 2° (302 x 212mm). Collation: a 1 2 b-q 8 r-s 6 A-N 8 O-P 6 (a1 blank, a2r translator's dedication to Ferdinand of Naples, a5r tabula, a12v register, b1r text, P6r colophon; P6v blank). 259 (of 260, without a1 blank) leaves. 60 lines and headline, double column. Type: 2:80R. 2- to 8-line initial spaces with guide-letters. (A few wormholes in first and final leaves slightly affecting text, occasional light staining and spotting.) 17th-century Italian flexible paste-boards with vellum spine overlay (manuscript scribbles, a little scuffed). Provenance : 17th-century inscriptions (deleted) -- Abbot Lodovico Baratti (monogram on fly-leaf; 18th-century engraved armorial bookplate below colophon; possibly the chronicler of Forli, 1698-1763). Third edition of Landino's Italian translation of one of the most consulted classical scientific texts in the Italian Renaissance.
