Stephanus, 1578, 3 vols., 2°, parallel text in Greek and Latin in double column, Estienne device on titles, woodcut initials and headpieces (occasional light browning), late 18th-century straight-grained red morocco gilt by Henry Walther with his label in the first volume, covers with gilt rule and inner gilt panel with semi-circles at corners, gilt spines in six compartments with raised bands, titled in three (extremities somewhat rubbed, lower cover of vol. I slightly scuffed, mild dent in upper cover of vol. III), gilt inner dentelles in Greek key pattern, marbled endpapers, gilt edges. [Adams P1439] Provenance : Mar. Ant. Morgan (18th-century ownership inscriptions); Joseph Neeld; John Lehman (bookplates); William Salloch (bookseller's label).
