A suffragette brass-plated belt buckle and belt, the buckle featuring David Wilson's 'Haunted House' image depicting a woman holding a 'Votes for Women' sign, 5.8 x 6.5cm, together with a 'WSPU' (Women's Social and Political Union) enamelled brooch, 3.5cm diameter, a pennant with suffragette colours, 48cm long, and the British War Medal, Victory Medal, County of Durham V.A.D. medal, a General Nursing Council medallion and a nurse's belt buckle, all relating to Winifred Suffield (9) Winifred Suffield, great aunt of the vendor, served on the Voluntary Aid Detachment during World War One, as well as being a part of the women's suffrage movement. The 'Haunted House' design was originally featured in the Daily Chronicle in 1907, created by the Irish illustrator David Wilson The buckle was introduced in the 'Votes for Women' publication the following year, to help raise money for the cause.
