An exceptionally fine and rare 18K gold, enamel and pearl openface quarter repeating centre seconds cylinder watch with enamel miniature attributed to Lissignol, made for the Chinese market Signed Piguet & Meylan, No. 10044, case stamped FO for Frères Oltramare, circa 1820 Mirror-polished and blued steel keywound cylinder movement, plain three arm brass balance, repeating on two hammers onto two gongs, glazed dust cover, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, centre seconds, circular case, pearl-set bezels, polychrome champlevé enamel and pearl-set floral decorated band, pendant and bow, back decorated with a finely painted polychrome enamel miniature after Pierre-Paul Prud'hon's "Love Seduces Innocence" attributed to Lissignol, quarter repeating through the pendant, case signed Piguet & Meylan à Genève and numbered 10044, case also stamped FO in a lozenge for Frères Oltramare, bezel numbered 10044 60 mm. diam.
