A commemorative work describing the anniversary services held in Naples in November 1752 to honour his father Diego Pignatelli d'Aragona, Duke of Terrenova and Montelione. Pignatelli also provides the text of the funeral oration delivered by Niccolo Caracciolo and the sonnets written by local poets memorializing the Duke. The plates illustrate the funerary apparati decorating the Church of Santissimi Apostoli, the Duke's mausoleum, and the elaborate marble monument erected in the Church designed by the local architect Nicolò Tagliacozzi Canale.
