(Silver & Objects of Vertu, 25th March 2020) A George III sterling silver three-piece tea service, London 1814 by Alice and George Burrows II (reg. 10th July 1801), overstriking that of Crispin Fuller (reg. 29th Dec 1792) A George III sterling silver three-piece tea service, London 1814 by Alice and George Burrows II (reg. 10th July 1801), overstriking that of Crispin Fuller (reg. 29th Dec 1792) Comprising a teapot, a milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of bellied rectangular form, with a ribbed band and gadrooned rim, each raised on four ball feet. The teapot with a double-domed hinged lid surmounted by a fluted rectangular finial with an ivory insulator, the curved spout opposite an acanthus capped fluted loop handle with ivory insulators. Each engraved to the aside with a contemporaneous initial D in cursive script with flourishes surrounding. Traces of gilding to interior of milk and sugar. Each fully marked, part-marked to lid, the handle part-marked for Fuller. (3) Teapot Length – 26.5 cm / 10.45 inches Weight – 1262 grams / 40.57 ozt
