Lot of 4 photographs taken by W.D. Chandler of the St. Albans conflagration around 1895. A typed inscription is affixed on the verso of each image from L.S. Hayes, a witness of the disaster. Includes images North East from the depot, North Main Street from the Falls, North East from the foundry, and from the depot with the Weldon house in the distance. Each measures 7.5 x 5.5 in., 8.5 x 6.5 in. including mount. Condition: All are in very good condition with minor surface scratches and soiling on the images and mount. Some penciled inscriptions from the previous owner on the recto.
