Shmuel Joseph Schweig (1902-1984) – a leading photographer in Eretz Israel in the 1920s-30s. Native of Tarnopol, Galicia. Studied photography in Vienna. Immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1922. Since 1925 worked as a photographer for JNF and documented through his camera the development of Eretz Israel and its views. Founded a photography studio on HaNevi'im Street in Jerusalem and was the curator of photography at the Rockefeller Museum. Was also involved in archaeological photography. Worked for the Mandatory Police and managed the photography department of the Jewish Agency. Sizes and conditions vary. Average size: 16X11 cm. From the collection of Arnie Druck.
