PHOENICIAN GLASS ALABASTRON 6th-5th century BC A glass alabastron in translucent deep blue glass with opaque yellow and turquoise threads; wide everted rim edged in yellow, a short neck and a long tubular body widening at the rounded base; lower half is decorated with rows of turquoise and yellow threads tooled into a zigzag pattern, three trails of yellow and white below; two handles in blue applied towards the middle of the body. 73 grams, 12cm (4 3/4"). Very fine condition. [No Reserve] Provenance The property of a German gentleman; acquired 1980s-early 1990s.
