Lorsque le petit et frêle Benoît Brisefer porte à bout de bras une voiture, l'exploit nous paraît nettement plus exceptionnel que lorsque le bodybuildé Superman fait de même (couverture de la revue Superman n°19, 1942). Le contraste entre la petitesse de Benoît et l'énormité de la voiture est saisissant, une grande case était nécessaire pour l'accentuer. La touche de morale insufflée par la maîtresse d'école est en total contraste avec la violence et la tension de l'action. Tout l'univers et tous les codes de la série sont concentrés dans cette planche, la plus exceptionnelle de cet album. La case 3 sera d'ailleurs réinterprétée pour devenir la couverture de l'album. Peyo n'ayant plus le temps nécessaire pour mener à bien conjointement toutes ses séries et n'étant pas non plus très familier des décors urbains, s'adjoindra l'aide de Willy Maltaite alias Will – le dessinateur de Tif et Tondu et Isabelle – pour le dessin des décors urbains des deux premiers albums de la série. When the small and frail Benoît Brisefer lifts a car with one hand, the exploit seems all the more exceptional than when the muscly Superman does likewise (cover of Superman no. 19, 1942). The stark contrast between the tiny Benoît and the enormous car is striking, a large panel was necessary to accentuate this. The touch of morale given by the school teacher is in total contrast to the violence and tension of the action. The entire world of Benoît, and all of the codes in the series, are focused into this one panel, the most exceptional of the album. The third panel was additionally reinterpreted to become the album cover. As Peyo no longer had sufficient time to complete all of his comic series together, and no longer being so familiar with urban surroundings, he would recruit the assistance of Willy Maltaite, aka Will – the illustrator of Tif et Tondu and Isabelle – for the urban illustrations in the first two albums of the series. The backdrops remain rather discrete, allowing the action to take to the fore and to emphasise Peyo's illustrations.
