FINE AND RARE WINES FEATURING VEGA SICILIA This collection is a treasure trove of some of the very rarest wines in the world including 1982 Lafite, 1982 Pétrus, and large format Vega Sicila Unico. The consignor is a very knowledgeable connoisseur of fine wines and makes frequent trips to wine regions he collects. In fact, the client finalized terms for this sale on his Blackberry, writing from a cellar in Spain. This small selection for sale represents only a small part of the client's entire collection and represents his diverse and far flung wine interests. He collects the best of Bordeaux and claret, true, but also loves the wines from Spain and searches out emerging regions and producers on his extensive travels. Like many seasoned collectors, he loves older California wines and makes great efforts to secure the best examples of these wines. Burgundy is here, in the narrow but brilliant band of DRC. Truly rare large format Sassicaia and Gaja greet the Italian wine lover. Despite the presence of Pétrus and Lafite, perhaps the most coveted and truly special wine in this offering comes from Bodegas Vega-Sicilia. Vega release only 150 double magnums each year of their flagship Unico wine, and the consignor has generously released 2 of his holdings, in addition to several magnums (extremely rare in their own right). All of the wines were purchased from reputable retailers or direct cellar purchases and stored at Manhattan Wine Company under perfect temperature and humidity control. Bid with confidence.
