PETRUS LOMBARDUS (c.1100-1160). Sententiarum libri IV . With commentary of Henricus de Gorichem, the Tituli quaestionum of Thomas Aquinas, and the Articuli in Anglia et Parisius condemnati . Basel: Nicolaus Kesler, 22 September 1488. Chancery 2° (307 x 215mm). Gothic type, shoulder notes, woodcut calligraphic T on title, woodcut printer's device, initials in interlocking red and blue, red paragraph marks and capital strokes. (Without final blank leaf, small wormholes at beginning.) CONTEMPORARY ULM BINDING (Kyriss 125): blindstamped pigskin over wooden boards, title label on upper cover, contemporary blank bifolium around first quire (slightly darkened, small wormholes, clasps missing). Provenance : Ulm, monastery of St. Michael zu den Wengen (inscription dated 1514 by brother Renard at end, 17th-century title inscription) -- Walter Goldwater (bookplate) -- Gerald Mander (bookplate).
