Lateinische Handschrift auf Pergament. Fragment. Italien (wohl Bologna), Anfang 14. Jhdt. Blattgr.: 24,5 x 18 cm; Schriftspiegel: ca. 17 x 12 cm. Mit 3 Initialen in Deckfarben und einigen Lombarden, tls. mit Federverzierungen. 18 Bl. Beschäd. Ldr. d. Zt. über Holzdeckeln mit 6 (von 10) Metallbuckeln. (11)
Der Text mit dem Incipit "Ut ad sapientiam per grammaticam pervenire possumus" beruht wohl auf dem um 1250 entstandenen Compendium grammaticae des Bologneser Grammatikers Petrus de Isolella (vgl. Charles Fierville, Une grammaire latine inédite du XII siècle, Paris 1886, und Geoffrey L. Bursill-Hall, A census of medieval Latin grammatical manuscripts, Stuttgart 1981), stimmt aber nicht völlig mit der edierten Version überein. – Unser Fragment ist durchgehend von einer Hand in zierlicher Rotunda geschrieben. Der Buchschmuck ist für Bologneser Handschriften charakteristisch. – Bindung gelöst, einige Blätter entfernt, 2 Blätter unten mit Abschnitt (kleiner Textverlust), 2 Deckfarbeninitialen stark beschabt, einige Marginalien von alter Hand, am Beginn und Ende mit kleinen Wurmspuren, fleckig und etw. knitterig. – Die Handschrift ist 1983 vom renommierten, mittlerweile zum Bedauern vieler älterer Bücherfreunde nicht mehr existierenden Münchner Antiquariat Ackermann in seinem Katalog 730 ( Grammatiken, Wörterbücher … ) unter der Nummer 785a angeboten worden, am Ende mit einem Dank an Herrn Dr. Haucke von der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek für seine Beschreibung; diesem Dank schließen wir uns gerne an. Petrus de Isolella – Grammatica – Latin manuscript on vellum. Fragment. Italy (probably Bologna), early 14th century. Leaf size: 24,5 x 18 cm; ruled space: 17 x 12 cm. With 3 coloured initials and some Lombardic capitals, partially with penwork. 18 leaves. – The text with the incipit "Ut ad sapientiam per grammaticam pervenire possumus" goes probably back to the "Compendium grammaticae" created around 1250 by the Bolognese grammarian Petrus de Isolella (see: Charles Fierville, Une grammaire latine inédite du XII siècle, Paris 1886, and Geoffrey L. Bursill-Hall, A census of medieval Latin grammatical manuscripts, Stuttgart 1981), though it does not correspond completely with the edited version. – Our fragment is written in dinky rotunda by one hand. The decoration is distinctive for Bolognese manuscripts. – The binding is loose, some leaves removed, 2 leaves with bottom section cut off (small text loss), 2 coloured initials rubbed heavily, some marginalia in old ink, beginning and end with some smaller worming, soiled and somewhat creased. – This manuscript was featured 1983 in catalogue 730 (Grammatiken, Wörterbücher …) under the lot no. 785a by the munich-based, and to the regret of a lot of book lovers, no-longer existing antiquarian bookshop Ackermann. The text to said lot ended with thanks to Dr. Haucke of the Bavarian State Library for his description; which we are happy to join. – Damaged contemporary leather over wooden boards with 6 (out of 10) metal fittings.
