Wilde won on points against the American Joe Lynch creating a boxing legend which is still talked about today. The original painting upon which this engraving is based was sold in these rooms in 2007 for a world record price of £155,000. The present coloured engraving is framed in a ‘tabernacle’ frame, as was the original painting. It comes with a key to the people who are depicted in the print.
