Prächtige Miniatur aus einem Adelsbrief (carta ejecutoria de hidalguía), ausgestellt von König Philipp II. von Spanien. – Die Miniatur zeigt den Gekreuzigten, flankiert von Maria und Johannes, vor einer fein gezeichneten Landschaft; am Fuß des Kreuzes die Gebeine Adams. Der breite, goldgrundige Rahmen ist mit Blütenstäben und Rollwerkkartuschen geziert. Am unteren Bildrand, zu Seiten der Inschriftentafel, die den Namen des Ausstellers der Urkunde nennt, "Don Filipe", knien Philipp II. und seine Gattin, im Gebet zu dem Kruzifixus aufblickend. – Mit kleinem Ausschnitt am Rand (minimaler Bildverlust), einzelne geringe Farbabplatzungen, etw. knitterig. – Rückseitig mit Papier kaschiert. Leaf size: ca. 31 x 20,5 cm. – Framed under glass. – Magnificent miniature from a patent of nobility (carta ejecutoria de hidalguía), issued by King Felipe II of Spain. – The miniature shows the Crucified, accompanied by Mary and John, in front of a finely drawn landscape; at the bottom of the cross the bones of Adam. The wide, gold-based frame is decorated with floral ornaments and strollwork cartouches. At the lower edge, next to the inscription plate that mentions the name "Don Felipe" who issued the document, Felipe II and his wife are kneeling and looking up in prayer to the crucifix. – With a small cut-out at margin (minor loss of illustration), some smaller colour flakings, a little creased. – Verso covered with paper.
