Lacking title page and last 4 leaves, some tears with loss of text. Provenance: Earl of Macclesfield (armorial bookplate). A sammelband of 17th century works, highlighted by Penn's provocative tract. The work was written while Penn was already in prison in the Tower of London for writing Quaker tracts that did not sit well with the English Monarchy. It wasn't until some years later that he proposed the idea of a Quaker settlement in North America. Sabin 5972.
