(Paul, painter, 1889-1946) 19 Autograph Letters & 1 Postcard signed "Paul Nash" & "Paul", 38pp. & 1 side, v.s., Rye, Oxford & Dymchurch, 4th June 1931 - 16th May 1944, including an original woodcut "Coronilla 2" signed by Nash, inscribed in pencil, "Edition 25... Coronilla 2 unpublished" & an autograph note to Oliver Simon in pencil, "... here is a little present I happen to have by me. You remember the origin of this design of which there is also an oil painting - it started from a poem by Harold Monro of Poetry Bookshop fame", on a variety of commissions, "I hope you are not already embarked on a second edition of Room and Book or, rather, that there is time to make a correction or two which is necessary. It has been pointed out to me that there is an error in time regarding Hepplewhite who happened after Adams!"; "I should have written sooner to say how greatly I appreciate the gift of the Curwen Book I am very proud to possess itand should like to congratulate you most warmly on an excellent piece of work... I am very pleased also with the new Woodcut but I... feel surprised that the content does not yield a more interesting selection of woodcuts", folds (20).
