Per Heitman, Francis Henry Beach was West Point, graduating July 1883, ranked 37th. Commissioned 2nd Lieut., 1st Cavalry 6/12/87; 2nd Lieut.,transferred to 6th Cavalry 10/5/87; promoted 1st Lieut. 1/24/95, transferred to 7th Cavalry; promoted Capt. 2/2/01.
