Pair of Life-Size Anubis Shrine Statues. [1976?] Two sitting jackals on wood platforms made of plaster, lacquer and gilt; these were probably made in conjunction with the traveling North American exhibit of King Tutankhamen in 1976 and put on display outside of the exhibit as replicas of the ones found at King Tut’s tomb that protected the gates of the Underworld. Platforms measure 37 x 18 x 3”, jackals height 20”. Scuffs to platform, else fine.
