Beschreibung:

.52 caliber, 10.325" swamped barrels, no S/N. Bright finish, chiseled brass mounts, hard wood stocks with horn forend caps. Flat beveled locks engraved with simple engraving of martial and game scenes. Lock with faceted, fenced, bridled pans with engraved decorative covers over the frizzen springs and flat topped frizzens with engraved fronts. Flat beveled swan necked cocks engraved en-suite. Barrels with flowing Damascus patterning, flowing relief-carved vine motifs at the breech that enhanced with silver and three .125" mine cut garnets on each pistol. Chiseled brass mounts with game and classical scenes. Stocks with stylized fleur-de-lis patterned raised carved aprons around the tangs, simple raised borders around the locks and some incised line carving along the forends. Horn tipped wooden ramrods secured by faceted brass pipes. A lovely pair of highly embellished Austrian pistols from the mid-18th century. Condition: Very good. Metal cleaned to bright, now dulling to a medium pewter patina. All engraving remains crisp and sharp. Locks mechanically functional, one cock with a brazed repair at neck. Bores very good but somewhat dirty. Stocks with scattered bumps and dings. One with a small repaired crack along the upper stock line near the nose cap on the obverse and a repaired crack through grip with some minor wood loss along the grip strap. The other with a small repaired chip along the upper edge of stock line and no major repairs noted.
