As well as full-sized machines, Kawasaki, in common with the other major Japanese manufacturers, offered a range of physically smaller models aimed at younger riders. The Kawasaki trail-bike range included a number of these, all of which followed the same basic pattern: air-cooled, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine with disc valve induction, tubular-steel frame, high-level exhaust system and ‘knobbly’ tyres. Some came with lights and indicators, others without. The road-equipped KM90 was manufactured from 1976 to 1980. This example was purchased new by the vendor and has seen very little use. Original and unrestored, it will need careful re-commissioning before further use.
