Beschreibung:

In 1993 Yamaha replaced the OW01 production racer with the YZF750SP, 500 of which were made to meet the World Superbike Championship’s homologation requirements. Differences between the standard R model and the SP were many, among the most obvious being the latter’s single seat, adjustable suspension and Keihin flat-slide carburettors, while inside the engine there were different cams and valve gear and a close-ratio gearbox. The SP was also £3,000 more expensive. The YZF750SP went on to win many WSB events but is best remembered for the performance of Rob McElnea’s ‘Cadbury’s Boost’ sponsored Yamaha team, which won the British Superbike Championship three years running between 1996 and 1998. The rider was Niall McKenzie, still the only man to have won the BSB Championship three years consecutively. In September 2012 Yamaha UK presented Niall with the YZF750SP that he won his last race on in 1998. The current owner, a BSB fan, purchased this YZF750SP (number ‘303’ of the 500, as confirmed by Yamaha UK), in 2004 from Padgett’s of Batley, one of the UK’s most famous dealer/entrants, which specialises in acquiring limited edition race replicas. The bike had never had oil or water in it and had been kept in a crate. Renowned specialists Dream Machine were responsible for the ‘Cadbury’s Boost’ livery. The YZF was given a full service and sold as a new vehicle, and correctly serviced again by the vendor at 500 miles. Because the machine had never been registered, the vendor was able to purchase a 2004 private numberplate, ‘KP04 YAM’, which is included in the sale. Since acquisition, the Yamaha has only been used on dry sunny days and this is reflected in its generally excellent condition and low (2,700) mileage. Since 2007 it has been SORN’d and kept on display in the owner’s lounge, with fluids drained. Immediately after purchase the machine was fitted with a Scorpion titanium silencer and a graduated purple screen (the unmarked original components are included in the sale). It has also been fitted with a carbon fibre rear hugger and is Datatagged with additional data dot security. All original documentation including Padgett’s purchase invoice, the service/warranty booklet and owner’s handbook comes with the machine, together with Swansea V5C document, original toolkit and a YZF750SP service manual purchased second hand. ‘KP04 YAM’ will be offered for sale freshly serviced (new coolant, brake fluid and oil), fitted with a new battery and MoT’d. A paddock stand comes with it.
