Beschreibung:

With a body designed by John Hefferrnan, the Virage Volante convertible launched in 1992 reflected the new spirit of Aston Martin after its acquisition in 1987 by the Ford Motor Company had opened a new world of resources to a company that had previously been subject to many financial and technical constraints. Not only did the company have full access to the huge facilities of its new owner, but investment in test rigs and track, computer aided design and engineering equipment and other leading edge disciplines aided the development of new models. Yet Aston Martin remained an autonomous company with full control over its own products operation and investment. As the company noted proudly in a special brochure, "All too often small companies - no matter how rich their talent or extensive their craftmanship - lack the resources necessary to ensure that all special demands are met. But this is not the case of Aston Martin, where custom building and design is a dedicated activity." Designed to provide the last word in fine weather driving, the Virage Volante was powered by a potent hand-assembled 5.3-litre vee-eight engine capable of an effort to this 155 mph. In the proud words of its maker: ‘Setting new standards in soft-top elegance, the 2+2 Volante recaptures the free spirit of the age of grand touring. Its full lined mohair hood incorporates a heated glass rear window, has power raising and lowering and provides electric latching to the windscreen header.” The car offered here was bought new by the vendor from the Aston Martin agency Garage Aziza of Paris 15e. Finished in red with hand-stitched beige Connolly leather interior and beige hood, the car displays a recorded mileage of 14,000 km. It possesses a current carte grise française registration document, hires automatic transmission, service book and owners manual.
