A stainless steel manual wind chronograph bracelet watch Model: Speedmaster 'Alaska Project', Limited Edition No.1346/1970 Reference: 311.32.42.30.04.001 Date: Circa 2008 Movement: 18-jewel Cal.1861 manual wind, No.77212716 Dial: White, luminous baton hour markers, black outer 1/5th second divisions, subsidiary dials at 3, 6 and 9 for seconds, 30 minute and 12 hour recording, pointed baton hands with luminous inserts, centre chronograph hand Case: Brushed and polished tonneau form, screw down back, inner cap, signed crown flanked by twin pushers, black tachymetre insert to bezel, curved lugs Strap/Bracelet: White NATO strap Buckle/Clasp: 42mm Signed: Case, dial & movement Accompaniments: Omega box, outer card, red protective aluminium case, instruction manual, certificate of authenticity, bracelet, spare NATO strap, swing tag Fußnoten The so called Alaska Project from the 1970s was a research programme to design a watch which could withstand the life threatening temperature conditions experienced by NASA astronauts on the moon. Omega designed a removable case in red anodized aluminium which was supposed to withstand extreme changes in temperatures anywhere from -150 degree Celsius to 260 degree Celsius. In 2008, Omega launched a limited series of 1,970 watches to commemorate the prototypes of the Alaska Project.
