Title: Oakland Tribune - the Monday evening edition of the April 15, 1912 newspaper reporting the sinking of the Titanic - plus four more issues Author: ** Place: Oakland, CA Publisher: Oakland Tribune Date: April 15, 1912-April 20, 1912 Description: Includes: Evening Edition/Last Edition, Vol. LXXVII, Nos. 55-60. 58.2x42.5 cm. Each issue's headline reflects the changing reports and are as follows: No. 57 "'All Women Saved from Wreck' Flashes Wireless"; No. 58 "Details of Titanic Disaster Withheld"; No. 59 "Titanic Crashed into Ice at Full Speed" with a small blurb below that which reads, "Dead placed at 1635"; and No. 60 "Titanic Rejected Aid." A fascinating collection of the news of the sinking of the Titanic, as related by the Oakland Tribune. Lot Amendments Condition: Yellowed, chipped, and with short tears to edges from minimal handling; quite well preserved, but aged as usual; very good. Item number: 217202
