It left Bradford Exchange daily at 10 a.m. returning from London at 16.50 calling at Huddersfield, Sheffield and Leicester. It was not exactly a fast service taking five and a half hours to reach London. It usually had nine coaches, a restaurant car and was normally pulled by a Gresly A3 Pacific. The train continued running until 1960, when all long-distance expresses on the former Great Central route were withdrawn.
