An elegantly phrased and flattering letter by Nesselrode, Russian Foreign Minister at the time of this letter, announcing `Allow me that after congratulating you officially, I express the pleasure I feel reporting to you the benevolence of the Emperor.´, Nesselrode continues explaining all his efforts in order to get the Emperor´s decoration for his correspondent, and states `Since long ago I was feeling the need of reporting to Him about your merits, your zeal and loyalty. I have been quite lucky seizing the favorable opportunity this morning; a precious occasion giving me the proof of the good opinion His Majesty keeps of you.´ A good content letter reporting about the influence Nesselrode had on Emperor Alexander I.
